The arrival of a prominent authority on bone and soft tissue cancers is leading The University of Kansas Hospital to open a new program for those cancers at the Indian Creek Campus in Overland Park, Kansas.

Dr. Vincent Key, team physician of the Kansas City Royals and a sports medicine physician at The University of Kansas Hospital, has been assisting the ball club in evaluating the health of potential major-league draft choices.

The 43rd Governor of Kansas, Bill Graves, will be inducted tonight into The University of Kansas Hospital Hall of Fame.

The former two-term governor, who now heads the American Trucking Association, will be presented with the Legacy Award at 6:45 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, at the hospital’s annual ceremony dinner held at The Intercontinental Kansas City on the Plaza.

Two of Kansas City’s most successful hospitals will collaborate on a comprehensive cancer program at North Kansas City Hospital effective July 1, 2013.
